However, she is a great cuddler, full of kisses, awesome with kids, and she is a great big sister to her little brother Tokyo, a dutch bunny.
I'm writing about Luna, because today she almost caused me and my Mother to have a heart attack! My Mom went to go walk another dog Saffy (not ours) and forgot to slam lock the door. Now, my little 8 pound terror somehow managed to open the door, and go exploring. I didn't hear a thing, because I was too busy in my room dancing to ABBA (and what were you doing?!). My Mom comes back and asks me why the door is open, I had no clue that is was, and that's when we realized Luna was MIA.
Now, when situations like this arise I have to be the calm one, while my Mom is off thinking the worst thing imaginable. According to her Luna jumped off the roof. I can't say I didn't panic, because the first thing I thought of was when I accidentally lost my dog Spotty when I was 7. Luckily my smart pup just went back home, but this time I wasn't so sure I was going to be so lucky. THANK GOD WE WERE! I called her name (she remembered it this time!) and she came crawling back knowing she was in deep doodoo.
::Sigh::
We took him to the Vet. on Tuesday, he was gone by Saturday. I didn't want to let him go, but I knew it was the right thing to do. He couldn't walk anymore, he kept falling down. He was already starting to smell. Mind you, this was all in a matter of 4 days. I hate what Cancer did to my dog.
My cousin Jason and I were in the room with him until his last breath. My Mom couldn't handle it. I wish I could shake those images out of my head. I don't want to remember what he looked like when he was dead, what he felt like, what he smelt like. I want that to be erased from my memory.
The weeks and months that followed were the loneliest of my life. That's when Luna enters the picture. Now, let me just make this clear. I am not a small dog type of girl. I'm not the girl who carries her dog in a pink bag. That's just not me. I like big dogs. I like the breeds that other people are scared of; Pitbulls, Dobermans, German Shepards, and of course my favorite, The Rottweiler! I didn't intentionally get a Miniature Pinscher, she was given to me. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted her, but now I can't imagine life without her.
She's a handfull, but I wouldn't have it any other way. She protects and plays with Tokyo, and hopefully soon she will have a Rottweiler as a big little brother.
Peace out,
Ashley Venus, Tokyo, and Luna
